Is it curtains for Ed Miliband as Labour leader? "I'll give him a year"

Recommended Posts

It would appear that the odds are shortening.

William Hill have slashed their odds about Ed Miliband not leading Labour into the next General Election from 2/1 to 8/11 after a sudden rush of bets. They now offer Even money that he WILL still be leader when the Election takes place. 'In the space of a few minutes we received a sudden rush of interest in backing Ed Miliband to have stood down as leader before the Election - bookies can't afford to ignore unusual betting patterns of that nature, so we slashed the odds' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.'The last time a leader was odds against to lead his Party into an Election it was Iain Duncan Smith!' added Sharpe.

It seems Miliband is doing even worse in Scotland. If the party get a real drubbing in the coming elections will that be his curtain call?

http://newsnetscotland.com/index.php/scottish-politics/4164-anti-independence-party-leaders-face-catastrophic-poll-ratings

The misery piles on for Mr Miliband as 78% of people in Scotland think he is not the best leader and 65% think he should stand down before the next election. Only 20% of Scots in questioned in the poll believe that Miliband should lead Labour into the next General Election.

Ed Elasticband is the best advert for the Torys. He may talk down his nose but he looks better than his wild eyed brother. It was reccommended that Gordon Brown should get married and Ed married to sort of seem ligit.

Perhaps they should have married on another.

Is time running out for Ed Miliband as Labour leader after failing to make an impact after stabbing his brother in the back?

How did he "stab his brother in the back"?

There was an election, he won.

Round 1: David Miliband 37.78%, Ed Miliband 34.33% Diane Abbott eliminated

Round 2: David Miliband 38.89%, Ed Miliband 37.47%. Andy Burnham eliminated

Round 3: David Miliband 42.72%, Ed Miliband 41.26%, Ed Balls eliminated

Round 4: David Miliband 49.35%, Ed Miliband 50.65%. Ed Miliband wins.

BTW, go easy on the insults.

Words like 'gullible' and 'turnips', can easily cause offence.

Surely that's the point of insults?

Ed Miliband is the best thing to happen to the Labour Party for years - hope he stays as Labour leader for the next twenty years

Tory voters would agree.

But of course you don't probably don't believe what you post anyway.

Mecky is another ideologically blinkered SF poster.

The Labour party should learn their lesson from the Welsh windbag Kinnocio. By sticking with him in the face of all common sense he cost them 2 elections.

Kinnocio did all right out of it though. He rode the EU gravy train for years. Then he got made a Lord.

All paid for by you of course.

Another "working class hero".

And Miliband builds up his pension fund for every year that he is leader of the opposition. Why would he care?

Totally agree. Where was anyone in Labour or elsewhere opposing these excesses?

Good to hear Boris Johnson saying these payments are totally unjustifiable ... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/9043366/Boris-Johnson-brands-RBS-chiefs-bonus-absolutely-bewildering.html

Boris Johnson has no option but to say that. He's up for re-election this year and has to reflect the public mood. Normally he's quite happy about privilege.

Yes ... and then Direct Democracy

Direct Democracy Now

You can be sure political parties and their vested interests will do all they can to prevent any such thing.

There is a small but growing grundswell for DD. We have the technology after all. If we can do secure banking online, then we can do secure voting.
