Stoatwobbler
Just had a weekend in York myself! Went in York Minster, Castle Museum, National Railway Museum, House Of Trembling Madness, York Tap, and also The "Wheel Of York", which I think is actually bigger then the Sheffield wheel was when it was on Fargate. Avoid that wheel on Sundays however as the queue on Sunday was horrendous. Jorvik Viking Centre and Betty's Tea Rooms also get huge queues. bigthanks
And while you're on Stonegate, make sure you find The House of Trembling Madness. You have to go through a shop and up the stairs at the back to get to it. It's one of the oddest pubs I've ever been in, but completely fantastic http://www.tremblingmadness.co.uk/index.html Agree very much me and my OH are regular weekend visitors to York.. lovely atmosphere especially at night a must when visiting. curriechick
My husband and I had a horse drawn carriage ride around York at night it was lovely. The carriage driver pointed out places of interest.
