On a rooftop bar , watching the sun set in Pefkos,Rhodes

 

pefkos in rhodes is one of my favourite places. has a beach to rival the carribean no question!

drinking yinpu (black rice beer)jazz nights tues ,thurs, at the old peace hotel in shanghai its beautifu lold art deco cathedral of a place on the river in shanghai.

 

first on they have the old original shanghai musicians from the 30'sand 40's who are all in their 80's and 90's now.playing the set they used to play in their teens(a little bit off key)

 

then next on (last time I was there ) 4 young jazz virtuoso's from new york playing modern improv jazz ,brilliant players.

 

then up stairs for a chinese meal in the hotels restaurant '

the decor has'nt been changed since the thirtys.

ask'd for and got noel cowards favourite table which overlooks the bund .

 

order a blue diamond stout and sit back with my favourite wife,with her neurotic french girl friend who knows nothing about life and watch the sun set on the bund.
