If you have a photo card to match it they should do, shoulda mentioned that. They accept them at Napoleans Casino, so other places I'd of thought would too.

Most places will only accept a valid photo driving license, photo passport, or a prove-it card. The law states (I think) that those are the only 3 forms of ID that will stand up in a court of law. If somebody shows you a student card, and it is later proved that they are underage, the person who served them is still at fault. I could be wrong on that though, so don't hold me to it!

If you don't drive, it doesn't mean you can't have a driving license, you can apply for a provisional driving licence and that probably works out cheaper than a prove-it card.

i turned 18 this June and so on my birthday i took my passport and my provisional licence - i showed my licence and that was fine, they wont accept NUS cards, never have, only time you can use them is if there is "student nights" but then again you would still have to take another form of ID to prove your age - i would suggest him getting a provisional licence - even if he isnt wanting to drive, its always good to have one - i got mine jsut before my birthday as i didnt want to take my passport everytime i went out :)

you can apply for a duplicate birth certificate, but you will have to pay for it.

ps. i work in a pub and ive worked in offys- the only id i ever accept is a driving licence photocard or a passport. there is no legal obligation to accept a citizen/prove-it card and im just not prepared to take the risk- there are fake of those in existence.
