If you'd bothered to read the thread you'd see I have £2 million Third Party Insurance when I'm on my bike.

You probably do too, check your household policy.

Like I said, check your policy. Pretty much every household insurance policy

offered for sale in the UK covers third party insurance for all cycle

accidents of any member of the household. I'd challenge you to find

any that does not. Usually under contents insurance it will cover occupiers and personal

liability which will cover insured and members of family (usually

defined in the 'meaning of words')for death, injury or damage to

property.

Who's your household insurer mabor, I'll check for you.

i hav 2 buddys who are insurance brokers i will get them to check on this and if you are right i will appollogise but i cant see how your personal injury insurance will cover you for an accident on a cycle away from your home address if it did then you say 2mill its mor than a car driver is covered for and their premium is far higher than yours

Why do you think that is the way it is? Why do you think you often get free Third Party Insurance for cycling thrown in for free with membership of cycling clubs?

Cycling Insurance would cost about £2 a year because cyclists hardly ever cause damage, I certainly don't want to hit a car or anything else because it bloody hurts!

i have never had an accident in car or motorcycle in40 yrs driving so all insurance has been paid for nothing also a cycle travelling at 20mph can cause considerable damge to whatever it hits you can quote all you like about green issues its a cyclist get out clause and on my log book and tax disc it says taxation class bicycle therefor i should not pay according to cyclists

You dont have a tax disc!

True - but you usually have to pay an additional premium for (optional)

All Risks cover - which covers your valuables when away from the

premises - whereas Public Liability cover tends to be provided as standard.

i agree that cyclists do cause less damage in a collision but it does happen also a cyclist can collide with a pedestrian and cause injury thats why there is a need for insurance if you were knocked off your cycle and sustained injury the guilty partys insurance would pay for repairs or renewal of your cycle and any injury sustained by you however if you caused the accident and incurd injury to a vehicle or pedestrian what would happen then dont say it wouldnt insurance for a cycle works out around 25 to 30 pounds a year (there are specialist cycle insurers)that my friend is cheap for peice of mind
