nubile
That's not really relevant to this situation. Wasn't he that bloke who thought he could survive off the land but it turned out he had no hunting/survival experience or knowledge? Lack of food wasn't the major factor, it was being cut off from human contact that did for him.
quisquose
Yes. But in this situation you DO know there's £12m and freedom at the end. Then I think I might accept the challenge.
Glamrocker
I think his behaviour while inside might have something to do with that! Also, his trial was completed. The guy in the link was in solitary confinement for 2 years while his trial was on hold. It still doesnt warrant his treatment at the hands of sadists, oops sorry, prison warders

Glamrocker
Anyway re the OP what do you expect from a system that sentences a man to death and then virtually lets him serve a life sentence before carrying out the original sentence.

Some people deserve that, imo.

Glamrocker
I disagree. Thats your prerogative,I dont believe in the death penalty so the mental cruelty is more grist to the mill as far as Im concerned
LeMaquis
Michael Peterson has been in jail since 1974 for stealing £26. 18p all bar 4 of those years he has served in solitary confinement You missed out the bit about it being an armed robbery. You also missed out his other offences - wounding with intent, wounding, criminal damage, grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment, blackmail and threatening to kill. The bloke is a lunatic and deserves to be in isolation.
