Muldoon
Why is it that someone claiming income based ESA or Jobseekers allowance get free sight tests, yet those on contribution based ESA dont ? Also why are free sight tests not availlable to those on DLA ? Surely if you are disabled you should be offered free help to keep your sight correct !! chem1st
Free sight tests (and basic glasses) are available to all on income beased means tested benefits. JSA (IB - income based) for example, but not JSA (CB - contribution based) Working tax credit and so on. (So a 24 year old grafting 40 hours and pulling less pfund that a 25 year old working 31 hours has to pay, whilst the latter does not due to WTC exemption). Just a load of petty bureaucracy if you ask me, might aswell make basic optical care free to all.

Glaucoma, to take but one example, automatically entitles you to free eye tests. Having an amputated leg does not.
