barleycorn
You need to get the bus to Main Street/Norfolk Hill in Grenoside then walk via the Top Red for a swift pint. A 77 or 66 bus probably best. Failing that it's about £12 in a taxi from the station. http://www.transportdirect.info/Web2/JourneyPlanning/JourneyDetails.aspx?cacheparam=11 jb
mrseggy
If its the wharncliffe side end of the woods your wanting to get to then you can get the tram to middlewood and then the tram link bus up through oughtibridge to wharncliffe side. There is a walkers group on SF it might be useful to post on there as regards to where is best to get off the bus ect. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=
