Wheres the best Chinese restaurant in Sheffield?

Hui Wei on West Street is absolutely lovely. Great food and a really pleasant atmosphere, far from the usual noisy and busy West Street feel. When I was last in, there was a live pianist too, but I don't know if they're there every night.

In my opinion they well deserved the Eat Sheffield award this year - it's certainly the best Chinese I've ever been to in Sheffield.

I thoroughly recommend it, especially to the person who thinks the buffet place at Centretainment is good food!

Has anybody been to Jabu, the chinese dumpling and fondue place on london rd? Read some reviews it sounds really interesting! Anyone know what its like?

Yes, been quite a few times over the years and would recommend it. It's a much more social and interactive way to eat than most restaurants, some people object on the grounds that you shouldn't have to cook your own food when eating out, but that's all part of the experience :) Don't get carried away and order too much to begin with or you won't have any room on the table, you can always order more as you go on.

I've not tried Pho or some of the other down at heel looking places on London Road but maybe I will and I'll let you know how it compares. I suspect it doesn't though in terms of it being a nice place to eat. Those are very basic, cafe-like places - our OP was looking for a bit more "relaxing" surroundings I think?

I really like Pho68 and eat there quite often, but would agree that it's not an upmarket destination. The best of the cheap 'n' cheerfuls in my opinion. Tasty food, fast friendly service, and prices even a Sheffielder couldn't moan about :hihi:
