A different ending to world war 2

Recommended Posts

The US could not have been conquered, even if Germany and Japan had no other enemies. Their fleet - despite Pearl Harbor - was too strong to be overcome.

Whether they would have had the ability, or the will, to invade and liberate Europe and/or Asia, is a very different question.

Germany would most likely have had the big bomb.

Germany would most likely have had the big bomb.

Very possibly they would have developed it in the end, but certainly not before the USA did; Hitler all but outlawed "Jewish science" and thoroughly mistrusted most, if not all, of his scientific advisors.

Hitler would have used the atomic bomb if he'd ever got it, but they probably never would have got it until after he'd been removed from power. A more sensible person, replacing him and developing the thing, would probably have had enough sense not to use it if he knew the Americans had their own.

I see there are a few good military minds on here,so i would be interested to read how some of you will debate, and share your ideas on possible different outcomes.

Ok...

Europe including Russia, and Africa all fallen and under German rule.

Uk and Ireland under German rule.

All Asia under Japanese rule.(because Pearl Harbour didn't happen until thee above scenarios were in place)and the USA left their entry into the war too late. I would imagine the axis forces would have declared war on the USA at this point.

I really don't think they would. Hitler wasn't interested in world domination, he just wanted lebensraum for ethnic Germans.

If he'd managed to take all of Russia and Eastern europe (a ridiculous prospect in itself, imo) then he would probably have stopped there, and tried to set up a thousand year Reich.
