VideoPro
They are called animated .gif files. You can find millions on Google or make your own in newer versions of Adobe Photoshop, any version of Adobe ImageReady or any one of the dozens of free and cheap .gif maker software packages. VideoPro
Email & IM Direct link HTML code IMG code Those are for embedding the graphic in the body of a message. The code for example, will let you display an image in forums that allow it (the forum you joined earlier today allows this and even has a stickied tutorial in General chat on the subject). SF only allows image uploads in the Photography section. Anyway, to the point... save the file to your Desktop. Go to the My Control Panel link on the left side of this page and then click Edit Avatar. Use the button there to upload your new avatar. Note that there are restrictions to the maximum file size and pixel dimensions. Have fun!
Speed Demon
I have saved the animated gif file and tried to upload it but I get this message... Your file of 167.2 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 8.3 KB for this filetype. How can I correct this?

Save the image by right clicking it and choosing save image as, choose the name you want for the image then go to resize images online and set the image size at 50. save resized image and put as your avatar innit. Speed Demon
Is that height and width both 50, and which are the simplest websites to do this one please, thanks.
VideoPro
Can you post a link to the .gif file Jason? It's unlikely that you will get an animated file down from 167 to 8kb and retain any semblance of quality. 8kb is going to be tiny and have 3 - 4 frames at most. Speed Demon
http://media.photobucket.com/image/mjj%20productions/badmichael/3338082_m.gif?o=1 Here it is, would like it animated for my avatar please, you are a star.
VideoPro
Got it. Your .gif has 29 frames. Original pixel dimensions are 125 x 83. To fit here it will need to be 50 x 33. That reduces it to 38kb - still too big and there's not much left to see. You need to find something else.
