hillsbro Posted February 2, 2012 Share Posted February 2, 2012 Hi mistyraven - the picturesheffield.com site is a good one for old photos of Sheffield, but the only relevant photo available on the site seems to be one that was taken looking along Short Street, showing just the corner of Barking Street at the right-hand side. Here is a link to the photo (click on the photo to enlarge). The corner house on the right has the BARKING ST. sign (it's clear that this house, No 22 Short Street, used to be a shop, and a 1920s directory shows it as William Thompson, hairdresser"). The red arrow on this map shows the location and angle of the photo. The picturesheffield.com site does not show all the photos that the Local Studies Library (Surrey Street) has available.
