Frank Sidney
You say paranoia, I say context. I also say: another chance to imply feminists are mental? Grab that! It makes you look so big and clever. And whatever gives you the idea I have issues with men? Some of my best friends, etc... Jessica, are you obsessed with me? We may disagree about certain aspects of feminism...But I agree with you on other issues. The real issues. Suffregette1 has changed my opinion on a few things ie porn and cosmetic surgery. And I'm sure, if you had an opinion on Sharia, it would concur with mine... I just think feminists need some public relations training in how to win friends and influence people. At the moment you're all just coming across as, well, a bit odd, at times...

I'm not trying to influence you, or anyone else. I'm pointing out, for the benefit of anyone reading this who isn't already aware of it, that attempts to discredit feminism that rely on attempting to dismiss the arguments by attacking either the sanity or physical appearance of feminists are as old as feminism itself. It's lazy thinking. I hate lazy thinking. It upsets me far more than near-naked cartoons.
Cyclone
Who do you think serves you the pints in a bar, Rupert? Fairies? Or employees? So now all bars are places of employment and presumably you believe that this means that there should be no pictures of either men or women present! Jessica23
So now all bars are places of employment and presumably you believe that this means that there should be no pictures of either men or women present! Why would it mean that? Spell it out for me. Linger over the bit where 'sexist pictures' becomes 'all pictures' in particular.
Jessica23
I always thought Sheffield had a thriving gay scene?... Really? Well, if Dempsey's is your idea of a thriving gay scene, I suggest you get out more. To Manchester, perhaps.
Cyclone
Near-naked woman, in bunny ears, cartoon or no, isn't sexist in a workplace environment? I disagree. I found a beer tap of a man in a similar state of undress. So, quite clearly equality has been applied and it is not sexist. Sexism:discriminatory on the basis of sex dis·crim·i·na·to·ry/disˈkrimənəˌtôrē/ Adjective:Making or showing an unfair or prejudicial distinction between different categories of people or things So you are claiming that the beer tap was discriminating against women on the basis of sex? Did it draw some unfair distinction between men and women? Was that beer not to be served to women? I'm beginning to believe (actually have from the start) that you no longer actually know what sexism means. Advertising using the female form is not sexism, unless of course a man complains that we are unfairly excluded from the advertising business because people don't us as attractive as women... That's just silly...I wasn't aware anyone had. Some might have taken the Mickey, but its not a serious thing. Try to separate attempts at humour from serious points and you won't get the wrong impression...

Well maybe you'd have to explain how a picture can be sexist first. See the definition in my previous post.
