When they are in parliament presumably they are working and shouldn’t be drinking …….. perhaps your local police station should have a on site pub or how about a pub in the DWP or any other public building.

You might be interested to know, the old DfES building (at bottom of the Moor) used to have a pub inside for the civil servants. It was removed several years ago though.

I don’t know how many factories you have worked in but I would be interested to hear of an example of one with a club on site.

Many have clubs for the evening / weekend, cricket, football, sports hall etc but the idea of a crafty pint during the working day for a factory worker is laughable.

Well I thought that, way back in the eighties, but was very surprised to find that Yorkshire Fittings had a bar onsite, in the shadow of the main factory. When I queried this, I was treated as a naive young female, and the answer was 'well lots of blokes enjoy a pint or two at lunchtime'. I queried this thinking having seen some of the machinery they'd be returning to work to operate, but what do I know?

You're right, it has since been closed down though

I don't know if the Sugar Club in Spalding still has a factory it 'supports', but the club is still there

One of the best things about work is banter, the world will be a depressing place if we discourage it:(
There's a difference between banter and leering though. I'd even argue that there is a place for a certain degree of flirting in the workplace, but kick into action the little grey cells that function on out and out lust, and you're not providing a conducive environment for business to be conducted effectively

Its a pub, theres nothing you can say to change that. It is for socialising in.

Nobody is fooled by the business argument, we wouldn't accept employees spending all day in there no matter who they were talking to

If you find the cartoon lust worthy then I would suggest you get counciling

I thought the thread was about a beer pump clip, which shows a cartoon woman in a bikini? How many blokes would leer at that?

Agreed. It makes the day fly by.

I'm sorry but if you find a beer called Top Totty even slightly offensive, you really do need to get out more. It's about as offensive as CBeebies! The soft bugger wants to get a job in a real, down to earth place to loosen her up a little! It's blue from 8am til 4pm where I work!!! Not for the easily offended!

This is an example of why I think female involvement in politics needs to be curtailed. They walk around with their heads in the clouds thinking about clothes, make up, how bridget Jones is a 21st century icon and the like.

A man would be too busy thinking about important thinks to have even noticed a stupid picture on a beer pump.

Before anyone thinks I'm sexist, men and women are different and have different skills. Running the country should be left to the men whereas nursing, childcare, shop assistant, Ann summers party organiser and sex worker should be left to women.
