chem1st
The problem is that people ARE NOT BREEDING ENOUGH! A total fertility rate of 2.1 is enough to replenish the population. Not since 1971 has the TFR been above 2.1. The birth rate is practically the lowest it has ever been. Although it has recently risen somewhat. http://www.migrationwatchuk.org/images/graphs/Paper_9_27/graph1.gif Teenage pregnancies falling. Rise in births to older women (whom are more likely to have disabled babies). http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8531227.stm Why is our population declining? Why are people not having enough children to replace themselves? What can be done to increase the birth rate? Should we incentivise women in the age range 20-30 to have children as this is the healthiest time for them to have them? Is having a healthy society that replenishes itself a good thing? ferno
Why would you want to increase the population? Because we have an ageing population. The taxes you pay aren't for your pension, they go towards pensions being paid out now. We desperately need a higher birth rate, immigration helps but we really need as a country to start making more babies.
chem1st
Why would you want to increase the population? At the very least society should seek to replenish itself. Demographic decline is bad for society.

MrSmith
So he can moan even more about housing shortages You would think he'd want a lower population because then housing would be cheaper.
chem1st
So he can moan even more about housing shortages Housing shortages are a means of controlling the population, they are enforced by the powers that be to keep the slaves working. And to artificially increase the price of land and divert real wealth into the hands of the few (the land monopolists). 12 million+ enslaved mortgagees exist in the UK today. And many more are forced to live in substandard conditions as mere tenants. Such is the scale of modern day slavery in Albion.
