You can control something as long as people don't find any contradictions then your alright

I don't really understand what you mean by that?

In addition, if you're saying you can control something as long as people don't find contradictions how do you control them from not finding contradictions to start with?

Surely if their contradiction undermines the control then it's not really control at all is it?

However, we haven't reached the point yet where scientists, atheists, humanists or any other organisation has been able to take the place of the religious services at marriages, births and deaths. Organised religions still perform these functions (even for many non-believers).

Ahem!

I have had some dealings with humanist groups, some of them good. But I've also found some of them to be extremely dogmatic and quite aggressive, and not a very good advert for their point of view.

A little humility goes a long way...

I have had some dealings with religious groups, none of them good. But I've also found some of them to be extremely dogmatic and quite aggressive (911, crusades, inquisitions, etc., etc., etc.), and not a very good advert for their point of view.

Even the slightest hint of humility from any of them would be a start.
