ericez
Hi, I am looking for a lift to London from Sheffield on Friday 24th Feb 2012. Early morning would be ideal. I am willing to pay costs towards petrol. Thanks Eric

ericez
Thanks! I know the train is quicker, I'm just trying to save some money and I think lift sharing is a good idea, don't you?
pottedplant
Megabus leaving at 6.30 has tickets for £6.00 if that helps. Or Est Mid trains for the 7.41 have tickets at £15.00. I know you asked about car share but perhaps peeps would expect more than these amounts as contribution?
ericez
Ok thank you. I thought that this might be a bit like hitch hiking but just a bit easier. Maybe not.

callippo
the going rate for this sort of thing is, they'll take you as far as Newport Pagnell for a tenner but then you have to pay an extra 'London and environs' surcharge of £15 to get dropped at a Tube. Agent Orange
It would be cheaper to use public transport and there's less chance of ending up in a ditch
