STE PORTER

Since arriving on the circuit in early 2007 Ste Porter is now a professional comedian - a meteoric rise in such a short time.

His affable style both relaxes and delights audiences and his quick wit make him a great compere. Ste is now a resident MC at Liverpool's Laughterhouse and is a real crowd pleaser. He is widely regarded as Liverpool's next big comedy talent.

"Has an innocence about that makes the audience warm to him immediately, we predict very big things" Toby Hadoke XS Malarkey

"A very promising new comer" Kill for a Seat Comedy

"A ready wit, one to watch" BBC Leeds

"A very clever act" Paddy Hoey Metro

"expect big things from this Guy" Frog & Bucket

"portrays this 21st century Liverpool in a way that's timeless" muckcomedy.com

CARL HUTCHINSON

Carl is dropping by to do some new material ready for is debut Edinburgh Fringe Show.

"Hutchinson’s trump card is the way he interacts with the audience, rolling with every ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ his material generated, giving a dynamism and spontaneity to his performance." Steve Bennett

"His act was very dry but immensely sharp with an underlying energy which wasn’t obviously rehearsed like many others I have seen on the circuit." Weekend Post

"The phrase ‘One to watch’ gets bandied around a lot on the comedy circuit, but Carl is one of a few new comedians where it actually applies." Evening Gazette

JOHN WHALES

Rising star John has created a bit of a stir in the North East comedy circuit so he’s nipping down to Sheffield to show us what all the fuss is about.

John Whale was my favourite act of the night. His dry sense of humour and the slow sense of delivery was top class, and he reminded me a lot of Stewart Lee in that sense. He talked in great deal about Raoul Moat and Josef Fritzl – not the lightest of subjects – but both topics were excellently delivered as he often referred to his little red book to use quotes from other people on the topics. Whale’s whole stage presence was just superb. He could read the audience so well and every time he said something that got a big laugh he would choose somebody in the audience to give a cheeky little wink to. Simply brilliant. DOUGIE DUNLOP

Highly talented observational comic, Dougie Dunlop, effortlessly gets audiences laughing and sharing his unique take on life.

Dougie started his career at the "The Stand" in hometown Edinburgh, and made his fringe debut in 2000 as part of the "The Midnight Show" in the Gilded Balloon. For Fringe 2003, he headlined the prestigious Big Value comedy package show at the Café Royal.

"All the composure of a Tiger Woods' putt" The Scotsman

“Dougie has a rare ability to tell jokes about ordinary things and be hilarious!” Edinburgh Evening News

SOL BERNSTEIN

Superb character comedy.

The legend that is Sol Bernstein escaped the Pogroms in Russia, the Nazis in Germany, and went on to become the World's 1st all-round entertainer. He's a song and dance man, a comedian, a magician, an actor, a Jazz musician (Sol was rated "BEST TRIANGLE" player in the USA in the 50's by performers like Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington ). Also rated the best impersonator EVER !!

He's performed all over the world at venues including The London Palladium, New York's Carnegie Hall, The Paris Olympia, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, and Scunthorpe Baths, but it's at night clubs where Sol really comes to life. His charisma, his style, his catch phrase "why don't you put on a tie" his chutzpah, put it all together and you see the magic that is Sol Bernstein.

He's the man who helped the career's of Elvis Presley. Marcel Marceau (and never even got a "Thank you") and even the Beatles were influenced. He's worked with, and been friends with, some of the world’s GREATEST performers, Elvis, Judy Garland, The Rat Pack, Lenny Bruce, Jack Benny, George Burns, Milton Berle, Doris Day, Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe, Eddie Large

Most young performers will mention Sol B as a major influence. A major influence to do what, we aren't sure, but an influence never the less!

" One part Alf Garnett, two parts Mel Brooks, and three parts like nothing you've ever heard" The Guardian

"An instantly winning creation" Evening Standard

"No age barrier to comic genius" Edinburgh Evening News

"Bernstein's the real deal, you'd better believe it" The Scotsman
