To wit; pointing at someone overweight and saying, "You fat git!" is not funny. That doesn't mean that there cannot be funny jokes about someone being overweight - even the simple, old-fashioned ones like "Well he went on one of those speak-your-weight machines and it said 'No coach parties, please!'
