Some people are used to them, but in no way are they ever comfortable. The human foot has not evolved to be in that position! Although we got it easy compared to the chinese! I prefer women in elegent flats or in a pair of scruffy walking boots I never feel sexier than when I am in walking boots! Particularly when they are muddy! I suspect I could still walk en pointe and that I wouldn't get better at walking in heels, although being drunk does aid trying to run in them due to that misguided confidence thing!
