medusa
One of the biggest problems with anxiety-based problems is that the condition is self-perpetuating. Anxiety about being anxious is as damaging to the body as anxiety about an exam or whatever else, but is much harder to control. Anxiety about an exam passes once the exam has happened, but anxiety about being anxious can carry on without end until you do something to break the cycle. No, anxiety can cause hyPERtension, but the usual cause of pins and needles in anxiety is hyperventilation. You can get pins and needles for all sorts of reasons. The propranolol could cause low blood pressure, but either way round what is important for the OP to understand is that the pins and needles are very probably caused by the anxiety and ARE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. curriechick
Propranolol are used to lower blood pressure but they are also used to treat the physical symptoms of anxiety attacks such as palpitations, sweating and the feeling of overwhelming panic. However Cognative Behavioral Therapy will also help and is better in the long term as you learn how to control your feeling without the aid of drugs.
