Rupert_Baehr
I give as good as I receive. I get called a lesbian regularly. I'm seriously thinking of becoming one. If I send you the wool, will you make me one?
mj.scuba
The art of banter is all about gauging who is and would be receptive to engaging in this type of exchange. She works in a bar. If she can't get a bit of banter going with the customers, she probably doesn't have the right personality for that kind of job.

Mercurian
What rot. Psychology clearly is not your forte, as evidenced by that comment and your OP. Maybe she is not suited to bar work. Maybe you could get her a job making huge balls of cotton wool for you to lay in.

Bar staff have the right not to be insulted or be subjected to sexist jokes. Why not just admit that you made a spectacular **** up, misread the whole situation rather than blaming her. Man up, be mature about it. I hope that you apologised to her afterwards.

"A woman's work is never done" is truly a very sexist statement. I retorted to a very sexist statement with a quip. The girl lost her rag. I am still awaiting her apology.
