vinyl
Perhaps things are looking up and we are starting to shake off the recession. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16833556 The UK's manufacturing sector returned to growth in January, a survey has indicated, with overall activity at its highest level for eight months. The purchasing managers' index (PMI) from Markit/Cips recorded a level of 52.1 last month, up from December's revised reading of 49.7. A reading above 50 indicates the sector is expanding. The survey found a sharp increase in output, a rise in new orders and a fall in costs faced by manufacturers. New export orders continued to increase, and Markit/Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (Cips) said companies had reported that UK customers were increasingly willing to spend. Mecky
What survey? Do you think the government might be trying to "big it up," to try and get confidence back? Seriously, how can the UK be shaking off recession since businesses are laying off people in their thousands and unenployment is shooting upwards? Even if the did returned to growth people will just return to their old habit of corporate greed, obscene bonuses, the kind of dodgy decisions that got the world in the mess is it today. Government didn't commission the survey. Why can't anything positive be published ? Why are you so negative about everything ?

I think some folks are very upset that we seem to be doing rather better than Europe. Some people seem to have staked a lot on us suffering a double dip recession which never happened. But don't let the facts get in the way of your attempts to talk down the economy.

Some people seem to have staked a lot on us suffering a double dip recession which never happened. Mainly the media in fairness. I remember on the run up to the last recession some dumb ass woman on itv explaining with a ecstatic grin that we were about to go into a recession that couldn't be stopped because "confidence in the city" confidence her and her mates were eroding as fast as they could. Governments shouldn't lie but they should, especially when it comes to economics be as positive as they can be. These figures are good news so shout it from the rooftops. Mecky would have us all with our heads bowed in misery until labour save us again. Moping doesn't help anyone.
