Billy Liar
I would also recommend going to a specialist shop and spending a bit more. I ran for a long time in decent pairs of trainers (£40-50 with gel in soles) from High St shop, then I was persuaded to go to Accelerate at Attercliffe. After going on the treadmill there- they spotted something and recommended a pair. I tried them - they even let me run round the block in them- and I've never looked back. As the trainers are ideal for my gait, they feel muck lighter when I run. I always thought I was just a heavy footed guy, but it wa because I was wearing the wrong kind of trainers. I paid about £90 and it has been worth every penny
kippax
been running in barefeet or five fingers for years now....no blisters and don't cost me a fortune....learn to run as nature intended. Makes me chuckle when people blame trainers for bad form, lose the trainers and you lose the bad form.
