Remember wako and the davidians?

Plenty of other options, for one the local police were more than happy to take the ATF to the farm. They were invited to the farm by the religious sect.

They were suspected of converting semi-automatic AR15s to fully automatic m16 type weapons. Given this how likely do you think it would be that the converted weapons would be well hidden if the ATF had accepted the invite? Do you not think it more likely the weapons would be found in a surprise raid?

What possible motive do you think the government could have for wanting to kill them all? Bear in mind the sect had been active for almost 40 years by the time of the raid.

Motive

1, to get more funding for the ATF.

2, to slap down one of the vast numbers of this type of religious sect.

Any semi automatic weapon can be made automatic it's quick and simple. Given everyone has guns in Texas. Such a check would be like checking tyre Tyre tread here.

1) What was the ATF funding before and after the event? In what way was the ATF funding before the event inadequate? Who would benefit from increased funding to the ATF?

2) Circular reasoning. Try again.

What makes you think they had this intension? The police that knew them said they were harmless and had no problem visiting them.

The intension of the state was violence.

The vast amount of fire power they had at their disposal. The fact that Keresh had been tipped off about the impending raid and told his people to arm themselves whilst getting into defensive positions.

No, the intention of the state was to search the premises and seize any illegal weapons, if found.
