Hotpoint fridge freezer problem

Ive got a Hotpoint fridge model number RFA60, it as stop working, the fridge is no longer cold, and the freezer won;t work either, the compressor is running and getting hot, Ive been told it may want re-gassing,? If so does anyboby know if its worth it, how much? + do you get a gaurentee ? or just get a new one, as they are only around £330 new. the fridge freezer is approx 10 years old, but looks new,
