Last time we as a people had any power was when we cut our noses of to spite our faces and did the lorry drivers petrol protests when the cost went over a quid a litre, back in 2000. Although it was semi-successful and the price did temporarily fall, since 9-11 we've all become far more concerned with staying alive. It's now a subconsious given that while we still need to wrestle Jonny Iraqi for his oil, it's gonna get ever more costly. Buying replacement soldiers and more guns to help convince Jonny that we really do own the planet, which includes the oil his civilisation has been built upon, ain't cheap.
