Do We Really Need Royalty?

But wait until 'Green Beer Day' then listen for all the phony 'Oirish' accents. :hihi:

If the Dail changed the law and made all Irish citizens liable to tax (irrespective of where they live in the World) and if they made 'tax day' St Patrick's Day they'd make a fortune out of 'Green Beer' Irish in the US.:hihi::hihi::hihi:

Anybody can be Irish on St Paddy's day. Good excuse to get completely s**t faced (to use an Americanism)

Nah, dont believe it! You'd take her to a pub, knock back a few drinks and when she told you she was a church deacon you'd completely lose it :hihi:

You're wrong, you don't know me at all. I've dated Christians in the past, in fact, I've never dated an atheist.

You're always ascribing positions to me that I do not hold. If I were a cynical person I'd think that because you can't actually dispute the things I say most of the time you just make stuff up to have a go at me about... oh wait! I totally am cynical, and I do think that!

<snip> ...Each state is different in its own way. So tell me, which one is the US as a whole?
I have neither said nor implied that one state or one person is representative of the Us as a whole, only that you are not. This entire post of yours is an attack on a position I do not hold, have you been taking lessons in argument from Harleyman?

I don't have an us v them attitude at all.

Yeah and I'm a christian royalist. :hihi:

You're an atheist, an anti-royalist and you have no love for right wing politicians. I'm not making that up. You've made all that very clear in a thousand posts.

I'm not criticizing any of your views or beliefs. You have a perfect right to air them.

You have a tendency to jump to conclusions about others, including me without any foundation.

No I dont watch the Foxy News channel every day and I dont phone in to the Bill Oh Really show either :hihi:

...which you have extrapolated to me being a communist, a socialist, hating religious people, and refusing to associate with royalists. You have also on several occasions made jibes about the Labour party in an attempt to insult me.

I'm not criticizing any of your views or beliefs.
What are you on about? Yeah you do, all the time, or more accurately, you criticise views and beliefs you think I have. That's what argument is, it's what these discussions are for.

I don't believe I've ever implied or said either of those things. You have however, been an apologist for Fox News several times in the past. I did one time make a post about you being a republican, for which I think I apologised when you corrected me.

I love it how we supposed to have some sacred twisted ideology that the monarchy is classed in a god like status, look at other countries, hell, even our money has their images on it, we can not get away from it, we should all open our eyes and smell the extremely strong aroma of horse crap and see that we are not meant as a civilised race to bow down to each other and have one person rule another, we are all equal, them royals have that many sticks up their asses and fingers in that many pies that they will never run out of what they need to survive, yet they happily stand around on balconies waving at a brainwashed crowd knowing that if any of them people were to die or suffer terrible scarcity then they would never lose any sleep, even though am sure the country would stop dead as it did with Princess Diana when one of them passes away, what a deluded mess that is.

But you yourself ridicule religious belief and on one occasion stated that a trained monkey could do the Queen's job.

That's not very respectful is it.

The old kettle calling the pot black again.

As for news channels I've learned that putting aside the obvious political bias that any particular news channel holds to there is a grain of truth here and there. The object is to separate the BS from the facts and draw your own conclusions.

I always thought that in the UK with a democratic multi party political system the Monarchy was a unifying factor.

Take that away and what have you got?

No one is going to look on the likes of David Cameron, Gordon Brown or Tony Blair as in any way the same kind of entity. God forbid :gag:

Britain these days is much like America, a country deeply divided politically.

The Constitution, the Republic and the flag are the unifying factors in this part of the world.
