Muldoon
I have been spat on too and beaten up because I am gay and proud of it, I slapped the person that spat on me and he arranged for a gang of lads to meet me after work and give me a good seeing to. He is now on the dole after spending 8 months in HMP Doncaster. Who had the last laugh there then BULLY BOY ?
Plain Talker
Maybe is kids are male and because you're gay he might think you're a paedophile too Back when I was growing up this was the most bandied about piece of crap associated with gay men, its a terrible thing to say about anyone. and there's no correlation between the two, and again, like the spitting, could constitute a homophobic offence.. Badlittlepup
Again, you're getting confused between coming out and general conversation. For the record, I wouldn't mention wife as I don't have one. Was the OP asked his sexual orientation? Was the OP even asked about his better half? We don't know do we, perhaps he will enlighten us. But I'm just pointing out that there are a lot of ways that sexuality comes up at work and it can't necessarily be brused under the carpet, if you want it completely taken out of work it comes up in lots of ways indirectly so it can't just be a matter of 'don't come out at work keep it private' because you don't expect it to work the other way round for people who are heterosexual to keep their sexuality a secret too. mj.scuba
Ok, I have a question : what possible need is there to tell others you're gay ? Because the default assumption in society is that a person is straight, unless they say otherwise. Since it's a part of who they are, at some point, they may wish people to know so as to correct this assumption.
Badlittlepup
Ok, I have a question : what possible need is there to tell others you're gay ? Why do you need to tell anybody that you are married? Why do you need to tell anybody where you live? Why do you need to tell anybody where you come from? Why do you need to friend anybody on facebook? Why do you need to tell people you have children? Why do you need to tell people when your birthday is? Why do you need to tell anybody who your parents are? Why do you need to tell anybody that you have a girlfriend or boyfriend? Why do you need to tell anybody what kind of music you like? Why do you need to tell people what your religion is? Why do YOU feel the need to tell everybody what your political opinions are? You and anybody else don't NEED to do any of the above but most people do, why should being gay be any different? Why should it be forced to be some kind of dirty little secret just to keep a few people who are incapable of dealing with someone elses choice (which has no effect on them) happy?
