Alcoblog
You forgot to mention that each pie contains 2.4g of fibre, and everyone knows that fibre is good for you! Profuse apologies and thanks for pointing out my mistake ... a 475g Fray Bentos pie does indeed contain 2.4g of fibre (as well as 3042kj of energy!) Crosser
I rest my case... Fray Bentos pies are the elixir of life Not only that but if you paint the used can matt black & put it on your head, you can easily be mistaken for an American "Bell Hop" (at a distance)
VideoPro
...Not only that but if you paint the used can matt black... Probably their most inventive use was by a group of armed robbers from Kent, who tried to raid a Securicor van in 2000. They painted the tins green, attached flashing lights and stuck them to the van with magnets, threatening that they would detonate the 'mines' if the security guards attempted to escape. Unsuccessful on that occasion, the hapless gang was finally caught later that year when they famously tried to steal diamonds from an exhibition at the Millennium Dome, after smashing their way inside with a JCB. anywebsite
What do they do to the "meat" in the pies and any other tinned "meat" products so that it can be kept for months in the cupboard? I prefer to eat meat that has been stored in a fridge and cooked fresh. They put it in a tin & heat it up to kill all the bacteria. No bacteria can get in through the tin, so it can't go off. It's not the best way to treat meat though & they don't usually use the highest quality meat to start with.

Crosser
More good uses for FB pie cans................. 1... Stand on two of them to make you look taller 2... Homes for homeless tortoises 3... Food dishes for animals 4... Just eat the can instead of the "pie" 5... Standard lamp shade for the blind 6... Using an old clock mechanism you can create a stunning centrepiece for your bedroom wall. 7... A "cup" for males playing dangerous sports More good uses for the pie.... (Nil) :hihi:
