Alien52
It is only a tiny percentage of soldiers that actually kill anyone. Part of the deal when you join though is that you may be told to do so,even if you are a cook.

Harleyman
RAF did a fantastic job of clearing up the mess that used to be Dresden as did the Luftwaffe in Coventry. War is war... krieg ist krieg

That may have been true in such conflicts as WW2 but hardly so today. In the US forces it takes 10 support personnel for every one infantryman
epiphany
When politicians screw up and diplomacy falls flat on it's face it's the military who get stuck with cleaning up the mess. There are no politics in the military, just brothers in arms Yet it's those same screw-up politicians who ultimately have the power to send those men and women to clean up their mess. The military is merely a tool of government which means they are at the mercy of politicians' predominantly self-interest driven policy making. There may have been a time when this country had leaders with whom we could entrust our military...
Kadogo
The Royal Marines would be better, about the longest training period of any non-special unit in the world.

dale1966
Give it much much thought. I wonder what the 300 dead in Afghanistan would advise you to do. Angel. They would prob tell him how much they enjoyed life in the forces and how proud they were to serve their country !!!
Liamfox88
join the marines, paras, or raf regiment Join the Rifles! your getting on abit at 25, well for the infantry. if you want to make a go of it you will need to get promoted quick. The Rifles are the biggest infantry regiment in the Army. Plenty of opportunity to advance in rank. oh, before you join ensure you can run coss country for 8 miles in one hour in boots and do a days work. If you join up, say hi to Brecon for me.
