NumbBum
It looks like the boaters at Tinsley Marina have banned fishing on the canal. Does anyone know if the boaters can do this - especially to the disabled fishermen. Numb Bum
Runningman
The folks that live on the basin there are a law unto themselves, don't take any notice of them and don't have anything to do with the BW staff that live there. There is a guy living on the basin whose name I don't know. He has formed a Marina Watch group, part of Neighbourhood Watch. Find out who he is and ask his advice. charliewag
i think it's just the basins where the boats are moored. they've had anglers casting feeders and bombs up to the boats sometimes hitting them. i've pike fished there and always fished well away from the boats and the owners appreciate that. sheff 13
I know the marina at Shireoaks is closed to anglers in the warmer months but the exact time this comes into effect I'm not sure. Perhaps Sheffield is the same. Come to think of it wouldn't you complain if someone was making a din out side your house daily.
justme111
Fishing is not banned on the canal, the fishing rights for a very small stretch of the canal from Lock 1 to Lock 2 on the bank side where the boats are moored is the only area that cannot be fished. This does not affect the towpath side. Hope this clarifies things.
