ferno
He points out that there is lots of spare land in Poland and not many older houses. Apparently the Nazis destroyed half of the housing during the invasion and the Russians destroyed the other half kicking them out. He intends to buy land and build. He reckons on £30, 000 for a good house. He's clearly never been to Poland.
shane39
Where's he buying a house, property prices have rocketed in Poland since accession, it's the only EU country with a growing economy? I doubt a Pole could live here and save enough to buy a house. A dozen Poles packed into one house,is the way they save money.

ferno
"Not many older houses in Poland" is the sort of thing a dribbling moron would say. The entire city of Krakow is a Unesco World Heritage Site, the country wasn't fought over so, like Prague, the old cities remained intact, apart from Warsaw. The Germans did blow up the town hall in Prague but then they lost interest and buggered off.
Tony
How does the Pole manage to live and work and save while you say UK citizens can't?

Well, that's because you keep refusing to say where your mate's going to build a dream home for £30k. A 2 bed flat in a communist-era block is nearer £50k: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property/property-37080695.html Your mate's pulling your leg.
