sportynick
Former Sheffield Wednesday star Rodger Wylde will speak at a dinner in aid of the Derek Dooley Football Academy (DDFA) at Baldwin’s Omega in April. Wylde, who started his career at Hillsborough and scored 54 goals in 168 appearances for Wednesday, has spent the last 25 years as physio at Stockport County. Entertainment will also be provided by female vocal duo Honey Honey at the event on Thursday, April 19 (7pm for 7.30pm) with Sky Sports reporter Nick Johnson acting as MC. Tickets for the event, priced at just £30, can be booked by contacting Sam at Baldwin’s on 0114 255 1818 or email sam@baldwinsomega.com. The DDFA was formed as a lasting tribute to Derek Dooley MBE, helping amputees and people with additional needs get involved in football. Together with Sheffield & Hallamshire FA, the organisation recently helped organise a Deaf Football Festival which was held in Sheffield.
