Bananas. Too much sugar?

Recommended Posts

I would say substituting it for plain water was better and cheaper as there are no advantages to drinking mineral water. You are also neglecting the fact that a lot of fizzy drinks also now come sugar free and use artificial sweeteners.

artificial sweeteners aren't good for you either!

Although, don't forget that sugar free fizzy drinks are actually harmful to our teeth, and sugar free cola drinks actually disolve your teeth!!! Urgh :(

I say drink water, from the tap - cheapest form :)

Banana's are also a good source of potassium...

source: I'm a doctor.

My GP has told me not to eat too many bananas as I take high blood pressure tablets (lisinopril). He decided to tell me this after I had been on the tablets for years and only when my potassium levels were very high on a blood test:roll:

So banana's aint always good for ya and nearly did me in.

I was also told not to drink too much green tea and not to eat too many nuts. Who knew my healthy eating and drinking was slowly killing me.

I'm really confused! I started eating bananas as I thought really good for me, then I heard not so good. So got on google, (I'm a boring sod you see) and checked out bananas. Well just read they contain too much sugar.

Now I'm really confused I thought sugar was man-made, not something that grows in bananas (excuse the pun)

I'm becoming something of a health freak with my food but the more I read the more I become confused.

Eat them while they are still green.
