Basic building blocks of arithmetic are addition, subtraction and times tables. Without those, trying to teach anything else is a waste of time. Children are leaving primary school without those basic skills. The big problem comes when they get to be Chancellor of the Exchequer and then Prime Minister. A person is now paying 5% interest which rises to 7.5%.Calculate the percentage change in interest to one decimal place. Is there a percentage within the 50% of male to female failure?
