maelstrom Posted March 4, 2012 Share Posted March 4, 2012 Sheffield Animal Friends will be holding a free vegan food fair at the Quaker Meeting House, 10 St James Street S1 2EW (near Blue Moon cafe and the Cathedral) on Sat 24th of March from 11am - 4pm. (Please see the article about it from The Star: http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/business/in-brief-1-4366881) If you've ever considered transitioning to a plant based, animal-friendly diet, are already vegan and would like to learn more, or simply curious, come along to sample a variety of tasty, nutritious, cruelty-free and planet-friendly food. There will also be informative talks, cooking demonstrations and showings of the Vegan Society film 'Making the Connection' throughout the day. Together with S.A.F stalls with info about veganism and animal rights, whcih will also be selling a range of cookbooks/theory books, zines and badges, and a stall detailing the work done by Doris Banham Dog Rescue and how you can help them (http://www.dogsos.co.uk). maelstrom Posted March 22, 2012 Author Share Posted March 22, 2012 *Also after the fair S.A.F will be showing the film 'Forks Over Knives' which examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. It'll be shown from 7pm upstairs at the Rutland Arms pub, 86 Brown Street, Sheffield S1 2BS, so please come along.
