m@rk
I apologize to the OP, Just that having owned lots of late model cars in my time, as my signature implies. I have seen many a fine automobile go and been sad about every one. I've had to let go and sometimes and it is like loosing a pet, it really is. It does make me mad when you get people don't bother because it just make me think of the times I could have got away with it back in the days before NPR cameras and all that, but didn't because I didn't want to be responsible to an accident. Sorry for coming on too strong. if it was a death trap wud not think of driving on the road it faild on the idel test should be 3% max and it was 6% he said its burning to much oil could be pistion rings they said more gutted then owt just spent 300 on brakes and tyres

Xt500
Yup, £60.00 fine. In an accident insurance will not pay out. Rubbish!! Having no MOT does not invalidate your insurance!

Resident
Rubbish!! Having no MOT does not invalidate your insurance! Yes it does you <removed>. Having a valid MOT is one of the major conditions of the provision of the policy

hard2miss
What penalty could I receive for driving a car with no MOT?You could have killed yourself, your partner, your kids or someone else in the general public. I would sooner go without Insurance than having a car tested, I think the system is all wrong where the concern is about money for an accident rather than prevention. If I crashed due to my negligence then lock me up, but if I crash through lack of a test of the vehicle then throw away the key.
truman
When it failed the M.O.T. did you ask why, what were the reasons? It'll be on the paperwork given back to him.
truman
You could have killed yourself, your partner, your kids or someone else in the general public. . Doesn't that kind of depend what it failed on?..a noisy exhaust isn't a killer for example..
