Where can we go with children in or near sheffield at weekends?

Peak Rail at Rowsley (near Chatsworth , Butterfly house in sheffield, Magna? Shepards Wheel (check times) working water wheel The deep in Hull fish in Fish Tanks, manchester airport viewing park Buxton pavillion gardens minature Train Ride, Matlock Height of Abraham Meadowhall (shopping ugh!) Ice Sheffield skating,superbowlbowling alleys Shrwood forest Nottingham York Railway Museum(try tourist information Central Library ) Central Fire Station in Sheffield those are some I have thought of !

That would be a fantastic day out, specially if it was topped off by a quick nip in to Costco.

I can second the butterfly farm, it's brilliant.

The railway museum in York is great (and free)

The fire and police museum in town is a good day out but it's not open everyday.

 

What about the Alpaca farm at Mayfield Valley then a pub lunch in the Norfolk arms on ringinglow road. Or the caves in Castleton, kids will love that.
