Wear a Hat for Brain Tumours on Fri 30th March

Recommended Posts

On Friday 30th March, Sophie’s Wish, will be asking nurseries, schools, colleges, universities, public sector bodies and office workers to make a donation in aid of the annual Brain Tumour Research ‘Wear a Hat Day’. The campaign aims to raise awareness regarding the prevalence of brain tumours and the need for vital research.

From sponsored silences to charity runs and office bake-offs, organisations and people across the city are being encouraged to raise money in any which way they see fit.

Brain Tumour Research receives less than 1% of national cancer research spending in the UK yet this deadly disease kills more children and people under the age of 40 than any other cancer. ‘Wear a Hat Day’ is a fun way of increasing awareness and raising money for an often overlooked form of cancer and we really hope that the people of Sheffield will get behind it.

In fact, I'm going to do a little better than just sharing this on FB....

As my humble contribution, Imogen's Imagination will be supporting Sophie's Wish and donating 25% from all online sales from the following shops between NOW and midnight 30th March 2012.

Etsy- http://www.etsy.com/shop/ImogensImagination

Folksy- http://folksy.com/shops/imogensimagination

I will be keeping a running tally on my Wear a Hat for Brain Tumour Research- Fri 30th March FB event of every sale and the grand total to be donated!

me too!

but the breaking news is that ive added another shop to contribute to the donation tally :)

Ickle Imogen, my hair accessories shop on Folksy (also sheffield based!) is now in on the act and i had two sales this afternoon to the same customer. and in addition to the donation via the order, she very kindly added an extra donation to the pot too!

ive finally decided which hat to wear today and im going for a summery linen flat cap in turquoise that i made a couple of years ago for myself from a vogue pattern.

needless to say, as it was a vogue pattern, there was more that a little shouting, swearing and stomping involved in its creation! lol they are notoriously bad for instructions and general ease of use- i definitely had to employ the little grey cells that day! :o
