11.03.12 - Sheffield Forum 8-3 Chapeltown Prince (Friendly Match)

Recommended Posts

Sheffield Forum played a friendly this morning with Chapeltown Prince. We ended up with 17 of the 20 players and started with a different line up, leaving player such as top scorer Daniel Sheedy and captain Shane Middlebrook on the bench. Starts were given to Daniel Callow, Kane Conway and Scott Bowden. Each of the players got at least 45 minutes on the pitch, most of them over an hour.

It was a good game with Forum continueing to play football despite the changes. During the game, multiple changes were made as we tried to give players a run out but at the same time being careful of injuries. Unfortunately Sheedy managed only 10minutes before having to come off. Fingers crossed he will be ok for next Sunday.

A very positive game. Forum took the lead before half time and continued after the break going 4-0 up before Chapeltown hit back. Couple of soft goals conceded but an encouraging performance and plenty to think about for the next 4 games.

Braces were scored today by Dan Callow, Kyle Dowling and Andy Coates. Tom Hunter got one and an own goal was also scored (the first in Forums favour this season) after a corner bounced off the back post.

Full of positives, I wont do a details report due to nature of the game and changes througout the game but we will look forward to playing Totley on Sunday when we are back in league action.

Who'd have thought it,a couple of years ago some bored lads thought of doing something to make pals and keep fit,and now lifelong friendships have been forged and a bond made that is S.F.F.C.

You've done well with everything from fundraising to playing,so well done lads, you're showing the winders up and numptys on the section what a real love of football is all about.

Great result and thanks for the update Pink.
