photodrew
I have bought a bird box for the spring, might be a bit late for the birds to begin nesting but I am hoping to get it up on a brick wall. only problem is I dont have a clue how to attach the wooden box to the brick wall outside on our balcony!! anyone care to share how a novice DIY would do this??? itsnevereasy
Easiest way would be to use something like "no nails".
taxman
This RSPB site gives general advice on where to site a birdbox (facing North to East for example) but not on the actual mechanics of attaching to a wall. You are probably too late for this year's nesting but birds still can use them for shelter.
photodrew
i just want to put the box up! ive considered using a simple masonary bit using a drill, then screwing the box on using a plug. would this be ok you reckon? I used this method for the pictures in the house

Just read this post and I am gobsmacked. 2 screws, 2 plugs and a masonary bit. Simple!!! I feel sad that people have no idea of practical skills. I used this method for the pictures in the house There should be no problem using this method, unless you're expecting albatrosses in which case you may need 3 screws rather than 2.
