Just a daft poem

ATOS

Today they took away my esa

Said I’m proper fit for work

My god man, atos better than Jesus

They make the blind see

They make the lame walk again

They can cure cancer.

Told me a man in a wheelchair can walk 200 metres

Told me that a man with two metal legs

Had no difficulty with standing

Told me lots of things

There’s only one truth with ATOS

And that is they don’t give a ____

Fill in the blank for yourself

Atos not very good for mental health

Don’t believe anyone suffers with physical health

And they keep taking the taxpayers wealth

And are clever hide behind the stealth

Of the official secrets act.

ATOS has to go,

Let the people know

How bad they are

That they don’t care

You may be interested to look up unum provident the giant u.s. disability insurance company that was almost ruined by £8 Billion dollars worth of lawsuits successfully won by disgruntled customers whose claims were refused using the Lima software system .

Two days ago I didnt even know what lima was. Now the experiences of this company will hopefully allow my appeal tribunal to see that as Paul Farmer has said , not only is it not fit for purpose but could in the long run be the ruin of Atos if enough people sue them. I have already filed for fraudulent misrep under the fraud act 2006 and am awaiting thier reply..

good luck

Are you are saying you are cared for 24/7/365 by a Consultant Doctor ?

because guess what if that isn't the case a Registered Health Professional does assess you and your illness ...

or don't you ever see Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists ? what about Practitioner Psychologists ? ever travel in an emergency ambulance with a Paramedic ? ever had an operation? ( which simply wouldn't be able to happen with Operating Department Practitioners and Registered Nurses as well as the Surgeon and an Anaesthetist - a doctor who doesn't specialise in your condition )

it doesn't really matter what causes a sign or symptom , what a functional assessment is interested in is whether that sign or symptom effects your activities of daily living and if it does to what degree does effect them and what impact assistive technologies have on sign or symptom ...

an example of this would be paraplegia, it doesn't really matter from a functional point of view whether it;s becasue of spina bifida, trauma, spinal infarct or something else, what matters is the fact that you probably can't walk or stand and need to use a wheelchair with aspecialist cushion to get about and to protect skin with altered sensation ...

hate to break it to you they are, I am a tax payer , and I have little sympathy for those who adopt the sick role , because at the end of the day as someone with one type of long term condition working in health care rehabilitating people with life changing injuries or conditions I want my tax to go to those who need the support rather than it subsiding those who choose to live on benefits, and i suspect that many of my patients who hold down demanding jobs despite their long term conditions and the adapatations they need because of it feel the same ...

ad hominems what a brilliant way to win an argument - you have a long term condition this does not give you a free pass to be a pillock ...

Never been a pillock, thanks for advice.

Interestingly, my life is funded by Unum Provident who have already put me through their software and agreed that I am unable to work, since they provide the disability cover part of my private pension.

I wonder how different the software that they provide to the DWP is from the one that they use for their own company?

There was a woman who worked for the dwp assesed by atos, she was found unfit for work, then after two months on incapacity was reassesd under the same procedure and recieved no points. It's on a panarama program on youtube, I'll try and find you the link.

This is the link, but the story may be in part 1, or part 2

I can only speak for the five assessments of which I have direct personal knowledgee - and in all five of them, they did.

That just becomes a game of he-said, she-said - the two ATOS tests I've had have utterly ignored my actual problems in favour of a "can you sit down and stand up" test.

I believe that the ATOS script is considered commercially sensitive so no-one not involved with administering the test can view it :suspect:

Yes because people regularly die of "can't be botheredness" Perhaps you should actually try reading up about the topic before you disparage it,

Which is why up to 70% of their decisions are overturned at tribunal?

So psychological problems are a "matter of opinion"? What next - are you going to say that people with severe long term issues should just "snap out of it"?

If people can't work due to disabilities then they now have to "fight for that label" in order to get they help they need either in living day to day or get the support they need to get into a position where they can work again.

Or look at the evidence and see that in many cases ATOS will fail in their role and cause more suffering among the disabled.

(my bold) bang on the button EDN:- Teddybare must reckon people think themselves spinally injured, or diabetic, or having heart conditions.

I wish my pacemaker was a figment of my imagination!
