Does anyone know the truth about windscreen replacements and insurance?

Recommended Posts

Yes but I had protected no claims and had about 10 years NCB before the vandalism ,I claimed and while the 70% stayed the yearly went down to 4 yrs ...you cant transfer a percentage from 1 company to the other you can only transfer the number of years.

As your experience shows, that protection isn't worth much. If they want to cut your no-claims from 70% to 35% but you have "protection," they just double the premium and take 70% of the doubled figure.

I used to get protected no claims bonus with my car insurance, but don't bother now. If you have an accident, you have to declare it when you renew with a different insurer and the premium goes up, so the no claims bonus protection is worthless.
