justmeglynn
If that were the case the radio wouldn't work at all I know because we had to change ours in Pug 406 when original one broke and what do you mean edit the vin? The VIN is the Vehicle Identity Number = Chassis number. If a radio is swopped from one pugeot or citreon to a different vehicle, then the Vin has to match the Vin of the vehicle it is being put into (otherwise you get this bleeping in the FRONT speakers). On the 406 the Vin has to be BYTESWOPPED IE:- if the vin is vfhrdf1234567 then the data to be rewritten would be fvrhfd214365p7. Dont usually give this much info. Also if you change from a radio cassette to a cd on these cars Pug/Cit then the bsi (body systems interface) has to be reprogrammed to tell it it now has a cd installed. Been doing this job since the first coded radios came out pre 1993, ie- Vaxuhall Philips 751/752 wich had an ER1400 earom (Electicaly Alterable Read Only Memory wich stored the code) used to decode these with a bit of wire and a cap to pin 12 of this earom Regards Glynn

davyboy
Are you near a radar station? My car radio had a regular bleep which corresponded to the rotation of a radar disc on the nearby RAF airfield.
