He didn't mention a race, nationality or skin colour, so I'm not sure how 'changing the words' to make a new statement alter what he's actually written or what he might be charged with. You can't add the word if as you can't be charged with something if hyperthetically you had done it. You can only be charged with what you did do. He didn't specify a particular race.
