Malvoleo
Cant see any previous threads on this but... I live locally to the School and only recently noticed the plaque on Western Road that says the trees on Western Road were planted in memory of the soldiers from the school who served in WW1. However heres my question. It also mentions another road (Gillott Street? - though my memory may be wrong on that) that I'd never heard of. Where was it? If it wasnt local to the school why did they also plant trees there? Anyone know - I know it's a long shot, especially as I might not have got the Street name right. Thanks. Malvoleo
Ok, been past the plaque again. Definitely Gillott Street. As far as I can tell there is now no Gillott street in Sheffield and according to the 1906 map there isnt one near the school. Was it a previous name for Mona Avenue as while that appears on the map it isnt named? Anyone? Thanks
