On Sunday 25th March, 2.30pm-4.30pm, Art in the Park is celebrating the successful completion of their Wild Things project with a creative journey through a number of Sheffield’s green spaces. With spring nearly upon us why not have an afternoon out seeing the sights of some of Sheffield’s beautiful parks.

The walk will begin at the main gate of Weston Park, opposite the Children’s Hospital, and over the course of the journey each participant will build up a visual diary using a variety of different media and techniques including rubbings, prints, and trigger words. Our resident artist Lucy Coyne will help attendees take a fresh look at the familiar and discover new and interesting details along the way.

The event is free to attend and open to everyone with no need to book ahead, and each participant will receive a concertina sketchbook and materials to help them collect information as they explore the environment.

The arts walk is being held to celebrate the completion of the Wild Things project which has run over the previous year with the aim of improving community spaces in the S6 area of Sheffield. Art in the Park worked with over 500 people across 8 different free events & workshops, and will be creating a nature trail the whole community can enjoy in Philadelphia Greenspace. All this was made possible due to funding from the ‘Big Lottery Fund’s Community Wildlife’.
