A story about Conservative-party corruption currently runs to two threads, both almost two pages long, even though it broke well after this one did. Why is that? Because straight up taking bribes in order to get private meetings with the head of state seems like a much bigger deal to most people, myself included. Why on earth would it be a bigger deal? This is a story about a government using taxpayer's money to fund new projects for its own paymasters.
