I1L2T3
Read it and still can't be bothered as we're years away from the next election and polls now mean nothing !! Absolutely. Labour are a complete mess. So are the Tories. So are the LibDems. For Labour it would be wrong to take any comfort from this. They're so shambolic they haven't really done anything to achieve this lead - it has been handed to them by an inept government. Next election. I think Labour and LibDems are going to get battered in Scotland and Wales. UKIP are going to poll very high. And we will see organised single interest groups and independent candidates winning many seats too. Whatever lead Labour has now they won't gain power. Neither will the Tories. The LibDems are finished already, as predicted.

They seized power and have started to bully most of us.
altus
Back in 1979 the Conservatives under Thatcher enjoyed terrible poll ratings, as they dismantled the UK's manufacturing base throwing millions onto the dole. That's not really reinforcing your point given what happened in subsequent elections. Of course, Labour don't yet have a militant tendency to help them not get re-elected this time so all they have to do is get the electorate to forget their mismanagement of the economy and they'll be back in in no time. Yes thanks for that, you are correct. I meant to say up until the Falklands crisis, getting ready to go out!

If, heaven forbid that we do, let's hope it's more effective than this one.

melthebell
It has nothing to do with the budget. It's the same old story, tories cut everything so the entire country and economy is run into the ground and can't function. They like to bully people around, people get fed up and vote them out, but not before they try and bribe the electorate with tax cuts they can't afford. Thus Labour have to spend heavily to get the country ticking again, the tories then bleat on about borrowing/spending.
